Welcome to the MAGIC WORLD

International Kindergarten Zagreb

Why Magic world Kindergarten?

Magic world, known as Čarobni svijet in Croatian, is a warm and nurturing kindergarten founded in 2015. Our space is thoughtfully designed to encourage young children to explore, learn, and grow in a family-like environment. Our programs support holistic development by blending play-based learning with engaging activities that spark curiosity, foster creativity, and build essential social connections. We are proud of our committed educators and carefuly crafted curriculum, which foster a nurturing environment where children can flourish, build confidence, and establish enduring friendships. At our kindergarten, English serves as the official language and is seamlessly integrated into daily interactions, creating an immersive environment that fosters natural language.

Our groups and programs

Our kindergarten is organized to support children’s development in two age-specific groups: Caterpillars (ages 1-3) and Butterflies (ages 3-6+). Each group offers a nurturing, age-appropriate environment where children engage in activities that match their developmental stages. When Caterpillars turn three, they transition upstairs to join the Butterflies, symbolizing growth and new learning experiences.

The primary language is English, which children learn the best through everyday use. Non-English-speaking children can learn English in a few months by understanding it first, then speaking it. Authentic pronunciation and phonetics exposure are essential for speaking the language correctly.

Caterpillars group embraces children aged 1 to 3 in a warm, family-like atmosphere that nurtures their earliest developmental stages. This phase focuses on creating a secure, stimulating environment where young children can explore through sensory-based activities, interactive play, and guided routines. Through these foundational experiences, Caterpillars develop essential social, motor, and communication skills, while beginning to build trust and confidence. As Caterpillars approach age three, they prepare for an exciting transition to the Butterflies group, moving upstairs to continue their journey in a setting tailored to their evolving curiosity and abilities.
The Butterflies group welcomes children ages 3 to 6+ into a lively, enriching community that fosters holistic growth and inspires a love for lifelong learning. This stage provides children with an engaging mix of structured activities and play-based learning, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and social competence. Children engage in diverse themes and hands-on activities, from arts to basic science concepts, designed to inspire their curiosity and readiness for school. By encouraging children to build positive relationships and appreciate diversity, the Butterflies group provides a supportive foundation for their future educational and personal growth.

Programs

In addition to our early English immersion program, we offer a variety of enriching programs, including “Sports”, “Art”, and our “School Readiness Program”, known in Croatian as “Mala škola”. These programs are designed to support children’s physical, creative, and academic readiness, helping them grow confidently across all areas of development.

Extra curricular activities

In addition to our regular programs, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities that broaden the children’s experiences beyond the kindergarten setting. Our sports and cultural events, combined with field trips and visits to local sites, create exciting learning opportunities.<br /> We celebrate special moments with birthday parties, fostering a sense of community and joy among the children. Seasonal activities also play a key role: during summer, we offer swimming lessons to develop water safety and confidence, while in winter, children can enjoy ice skating and skiing sessions, which promote physical coordination and resilience.

PROGRAMS

Our English program, recognized and accredited by the Croatian Ministry of Education, enriches children’s language skills in a natural, immersive way, fostering their development in a multicultural world. Children with no prior knowledge of English are gently introduced to it through everyday routines, learning the language in a relaxed and engaging way. Those already familiar with English deepen their skills as they communicate with peers and educators in all activities. This approach allows all children to build their language abilities naturally, making English an integral part of their learning journey.

By embedding English into every part of our program, we make language acquisition a smooth and enjoyable experience, fostering confidence and proficiency in a way that feels effortless.

This program is designed to promote the healthy growth and development of each child, focusing on enhancing physical well-being and building essential motor skills and coordination. Through a variety of structured activities, children engage in exercises that encourage body control, strength, and agility in a supportive and enjoyable setting. This program not only introduces them to the joy of movement but also fosters confidence, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward physical fitness, helping children establish a lifelong foundation for health and well-being.

From planting and digging to building and comparing sizes, children are eager to participate in STEM activities from an early age.

STEM education, which consists of the initials of the words Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, is an educational approach that integrates all these subjects.

Critical thinking, logical analysis, inquiry and project-based learning are the keystones of STEM education. It boosts the curiosity of the children, making the learning process fun, relevant, and everlasting.

School Readiness Program is specially designed for children who are reaching the age for primary school as specified by the Law on Education in Primary School, focusing on equipping them with foundational skills for their academic journey ahead. The program promotes well-rounded development, nurturing essential qualities like independence, communication and curiosity. Through activities aimed at fostering self-reliance, children build confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Group-based interactions strengthen their ability to communicate effectively, express emotions, and connect with peers, setting strong social foundations. Curiosity and a creative outlook are encouraged, inviting children to explore, question, and engage deeply with their environment. Physical activities aid in the development of coordination and fine motor skills essential for school readiness, while art and music exposure enrich creative expression through visual and musical forms. Playful introductions to basic math concepts like numbers, patterns, and shapes gently set the groundwork for academic learning.

Our primary concern is the education and welfare of your child.

ENVIRONMENT

Our kindergarten spans a thoughtfully organized space of 180 m² indoors and 1,345 m² outdoors, providing a blend of structured and natural settings for children to explore. The interior consists of two floors, each with an identical layout that includes a playroom, classroom, hall, dressing room, and bathroom—designed to meet the evolving needs and interests of young children. Our small group sizes foster close relationships and create a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Our indoor spaces are designed with modern educational needs in mind, featuring activity centers dedicated to science, pretend play, building, art and music, pre-reading, and early math.

The vast and inviting outdoor area encourages free play and physical activity on soft, safe surfaces beneath swings, slides, and climbing equipment. In addition, our proximity to a nearby forest allows us to regularly take children on nature walks, where they can freely explore, observe wildlife, and enjoy the benefits of a natural learning environment.
